The most common termites to invade a Northern New Jersey home are the Eastern Subterranean termite. They live deep within the soil entering your home through cracks and crevices in search of a food source the wooden structure of your home. Once inside, termites live deep within the walls of your home. Termite monitors are an excellent way to protect your home from a termite infestation and to alert you to termite activity so that it can be properly addressed before too much damage is done.
For active infestations, our use of termite monitors is in addition to Liquid termiticide, foam termiticide, structure modification, and liquid borates. It is our second line of defense to ensure and monitor for termites after an infestation has been addressed.
Because a typical termite infestation has a source outside the structure, and because monitors intercept and detect ongoing activity, monitors prove to be very useful. As we inspect and confirm activity, we can treat and control them with a low level bait.
The benefit of this methodology is the use of less pesticides (Termiticides), lower fees, and a feeling of confidence moving forward knowing that your home is being watched for termite activity.
For those of you who currently have either our Home Protection Plan or Carpenter Ant Service, we can “Add-On” a Termite Monitoring Program for Pennies a Day!
