Silverfish are small wingless insects, less than ½ inch long, the name describes their silvery blue color and the fish like appearance of its movements. Silverfish eat carbohydrates with their favorite food being paper. They like areas of high humidity and are often found in sinks and bathtubs and customers think that they are coming from the drains, this is not the case, they often fall into the sink or the tub and are unable to crawl out of the slick surface.

Silverfish feed on paper, do not store books or paper products in the attic, basement, crawlspace or other high humid or damp area of the home. Opt instead for plastic, air tight containers for your storage items.
